Summer 2008
September 6 ~ face book
I suppose I should get modern and get a face book page. Apparently that’s pretty hip. Valerie just opened one and found like 30 friends - ones she actually knows not just strangers. That would be more interactive than just a static web page - very 90s.

September 4 ~ Politics
of I just think its funny how a politicians speech is still just interpreted based on partisan lines. On both sides people seem to just point out the classic talking points use derogatory words that in the end mean nothing. Lets have the election now and just get it over with.
I just get from the people that I talk to that the speeches do nothing more than give the opposing party something to nag about.

September 3 ~ soccer
A bunch of kids running around kicking each other in the shins. Just kidding, while it was, of course, more disorganized than adult soccer, they did seem to do pretty good. Especially two of them (from the other teamL). I think they may have been on roids. There is no way that a 5 year old can be that trained without obsessive compulsive parents. No matter, one of ours kicked him really hard and he went crying to mommy.

August 2-6 ~ Disney@Orlando.fun
The Disney Parks. We wanted to hit Disney before Jack got so old we had to pay.
We did:
Saturday - travel
Sunday - Magic Kingdom
Monday - Magic Kingdom
Tuesday - Animal Kingdom
Wednesday - Epcot

August 1 ~ Tristan Last Day at Just Kids
Time passes fast. Can you believe ...in 2 weeks on the 19th Tristan starts Kindergarden. Wow. How big he is getting. He, Jack and Mommy made a cake for his class and teachers, that said "Thank you" it had hearts on it made with Chocolate chips" We made little heart shaped cakes for Ms Tina (3 and 4 years) and Ms Judy (4 and 5 years). We were all a little teary eyed. But he will be visiting when he picks up his little brothers. And probably he'll be going for holiday breaks when school is closed. When he starts school, he will start a new after school program since they do not pick up from our school. So Tristan is going to a new school. Karate lessons included twice a week. He is excited. Oh soccor starts next week too. First practic on Wednesday.

July 30 ~ Mommy's Birthday
Lucius said mama for Mommy's birthday. What a lovely gift. I was very excited. We (Grammy, Mommy, and the 3 boys) went for a walk after a faboulus dinner cooked by Daddy. Alfredo Tortellini with garlic shrimp, crab legs and steak. Then chocolate silk pie for desert for "happy day" as Jack calls it.

July 28 ~ Isabella's First Birthday
Wish you a fun and happy day. (Katie send us info and we will post it.)
July 25 ~ Our yard is green*
*- this website, due to political motives, does not cater to prejudices with regards to any plant life. All plants are to be given equal consideration for aesthetic appeal. We believe that evil white manifest destiny westerners are responsible for the terrible characterization that many respectable “grass like” plants have come to have.

July 25 - Lucius crawling
The youngest is mobil. The days of (semi) peaceful play are over. It is full scale, oh no what does he have in his hand... We are considering getting a play gate. To LOCK him in or hopefully lock the big brothers toys out.
~Valerie
July 23 - End of summer school
My first semester of classes (class) are (is) over.
~Brett
July 20 - New dishwasher
The crummy original washer is gone. Valerie hit the scratch and dent joint and picked up an awesome LG. It took a couple of hours and a few four letter words to install but it rocks.

July 12 - Beer
Wheat beer. Should be about ready for the Vento visit in August.

July 12 - Shelves
Valerie won out. I took the day off work yesterday to go to the range and build shelving in the office/Lucius’s room. Actually it’s a bit stronger than I thought it would be. I guess I like to over engineer stuff.
~Brett
July 12 - Shooting range
I went out to the range with a coworker. First time in about a year. We shot rifles which I have not shot in even longer. Even better yet he brought the arms - an ar15 an SKS and a nice little lever action 22. All I have to say is “I gotta get me one of those”. The ar15 was very nice. Give me a 10 years - when I can afford one. Expensive ammo to. It was about 50c a shot. But I don’ get out too often.

July 4 - Rolling over
So Mom and Dad Manley came up for the 4th. We had a good time. Mom layed Lucuis down for a nap and then I went into pick him up when he woke up. He was on his tummy. I was wondering if he rolled over or if he was put down on his belly. Then I put him down for the next nap and sure enough I went to check on him and he was on his belly. Then when he made noise when he woke up we was sitting up in his crib. Time to lower the rails.

June 28 ~ Terrible twos
Jack’s daycare teacher said “he has little horns holding up his halo.”
She is correct I believe.
~Brett
June 14 - Tristan’s memory
Tristan can remember the golden gate bridge. He can remember Easter eggs hidden in places. He can remember Grammy’s and skiing down the blue slopes. But, he can never remember what he had for lunch just 4 hours earlier.
